Get out and explore all that the region has to offer.  Recreation in a natural setting has proven physical, mental and spiritual health benefits.  For just $70 each year, you can hit the beach, hike or bike nearly 100 kilometres of trail, see rare bird species during the spring and fall migration celebration, bring your family to dozens of fun events and explore the beautiful and rare natural areas in the Essex Region – as many times as you like!  Passes include a dash card and a key fob for entry through our automated gate at Holiday Beach Conservation Area.

Terms of Use

Validity Location Our Annual Pass is valid for day entry into Holiday Beach, John R. Park Homestead and Hillman Marsh.  This includes regular special events, but does not include or apply to Pre-registration events.
Validity Period Your pass is valid for a minimum of one full year from the date of purchase, expiring on the last day of the month in which it was purchased.
Entry Passes are valid for one vehicle entry only.  Hillman Marsh and the John R. Park Homestead are open dawn until dusk.  Holiday Beach is open from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm from mid April to mid October.  Note: the electronic gate system Key Fob at Holiday Beach will not work after 8:00 pm, but patrons in the park are welcome to stay until 9:00 pm.
Display Please hang your pass from the rear view mirror of the vehicle with the date decal facing forward.  For John R. Park Homestead events, the wallet card must be presented for entry.  Visitors who do not have their pass in their possession are subject to the daily entrance fee.
Non Transferable Annual passes are to be signed by the passholder and will be rendered void if re-sold, loaned or transferred to another individual.
Lost passes The Essex Region Conservation Authority is not responsible for lost passes. Please keep yours in a safe place and we encourage you to retain your receipt for proof of purchase.
Electronic Gate Key Fob – A Key Fob in will be issued for automated gate access to Holiday Beach Conservation Area.  A deposit of $10.00 is required for this Fob, which will be refunded when it is returned to the Essex Region Conservation Authority.

Hillman Marsh Spring Pass

  •  Many visitors make the journey to the Hillman/Pelee birding regions for the months of April & May, and wish to visit multiple times during that time period.
  • From April 15 – May 30, the Hillman Spring Birding Pass provides unlimited visitation to Hillman Marsh Conservation Area for a fee of only $25.
  • Your pass will be mailed to the address you provide through your online registration.

Terms of Use

Validity Location Our Spring Birding Pass is valid for day entry Hillman Marsh ONLY.
Validity Period Your pass is valid April 15 to May 30, dawn until dusk.
Entry Passes are valid for one vehicle entry only.
Display Please place your pass on the dash of your vehicle, making sure it is completely visible.
Non Transferable Annual passes are to be signed by the passholder and will be rendered void if re-sold, loaned or transferred to another individual.  The passholder’s vehicle plate must be recorded on this permit.
Lost passes The Essex Region Conservation Authority is not responsible for lost passes. Please keep yours in a safe place and we encourage you to retain your receipt for proof of purchase.
